“Girl with a pearl earring” by Johannes Vermeer. Oil on canvas. Glazing technique. To make it look more like the original painting I used the old, time consuming glazing technique, often used by Dutch artists of those times. Glazing is applying several thin layers of paint which gives transparent or semitransparent effect. The original painting by the great Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer, made in 1665, is now in the Mauritshuis Museum in Den Hague.
