I have made painting reproductions just for myself, not for any commercial purpose. I wanted to learn the techniques of the old masters and their ways of painting for my own artistic development. I learned a lot from these attempts to reach perfection, they also helped me practise my technique. I was trying to understand and admire art, and the whole process of its development. Getting to know different painting techniques of the old masters, especially an old technique of glazing, used by my favourite painters – Rembrandt and Vermeer – was pure pleasure for me. I appreciate the works of the old masters and constantly admire them. They are always thought out and you can see there the painter’s artistry, their style, perfection of form, colour and texture.
